Our Approach

Washingford Day Care endeavours for families to feel welcomed. We want parents to think of us as their extended family so we do our utmost best to create a friendly, home from home ambience and provide a warm, caring, safe environment where children can grow, learn, explore and have plenty of fun.

 

Our objective is for children to enjoy a unique, stimulating, caring environment where they are valued and encouraged to develop as individuals and to obtain the skills they will need when they transition to school.

 

Partnership with Parents

At Washingford, Parent's involvement with their child's day-to-day life is really important. Parents know their children best of all, so we value their input and strive to build a close relationship between home and nursery. We work together during the child's learning journey.

 

Settling in periods are an important opportunity for parents to get to know their child's key worker. This is also an opportunity for parents to share as much information as possible about their child's individual needs.

 

We value parent's involvement, so occasionally we may ask for parents' participation towards celebrating cultural festivals, changing menus, going on small day trips, fun days, etc.

 

Staff and parents can share information informally on a daily basis, but if parents feel a need to review their child's development or have concerns about their child's time with WDC we can set up a meeting where parents can look at their child's progress and/or discuss any concerns or worries that they may have.

 

We value and respect parent's feedback and we uphold an utmost dedication to create an open and friendly relationship between home and nursery. We commit to keeping parents informed and to building a supportive working relationship and ensuring that parents and children are happy.
